atoms

The invention of the atom is very important. Democritus and John Dalton played a role in the atom. Democritus came up with the idea of the atom. He believed that if you break something down till it can't be broken anymore that the end result was an atom. This thought didn't last too long. For the next 2000 years there was no further explorations of the atom. John Dalton had started doing experiments in the 1800's. He didn't know the structure of the atom but he knew he was onto something.
